Residents reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

State Emergency Services received nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both regions.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
